Rhubarb recipe contests, Games & Music

Rhubarb, Contests, Community and MUSIC!

CHUM's 4th Annual Rhubarb Festival is a community event with contests, pies and treats and music. There is something for all ages on June 28th from 9 AM to 4 PM at 11th Avenue East and London Road. Bring a lawn chair and your appetite for Rhubarb treats!

If you like to cook or bake with rhubarb enter the RHUBARB LOVER'S RECIPE CONTEST! Here is how;

1. Please clearly print or type your recipe on a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11-inch paper. Include your name and address.

2. State whether this is an original recipe (of your own) or if it is from a published source. If it is from a published source, please note the source and author. If you have adapted a recipe from a published source, please note that, too.

3. Send your recipe by June 15th to: RHUBARB RECIPE CONTEST/ CHUM, 102 West 2nd Street, Duluth, Minnesota, 55802.

4. A panel of judges will pick the top three recipes. The top three winners will be asked to prepare their recipe and present it at the Rhubarb Festival, when the winning entry will be selected and announced.

Are you a Rhubarb Grower? Bring your largest Rhubarb Stalk and Largest Rhubarb Leave to the contest table to compare with other local growers. Then join in the Rhubarb Toss to show your strength and finesse.

Rhubarb to Spare? The Rhubarb pie and treats bakers are looking for as much fresh rhubarb as they can find. If you have Rhubarb and are willing to contribute please contact Mary at 720-6521 for details.

Join in as part of our community and help with the Festival in advance or the day of the festival. We need many hands to set up tents, tables, chairs or to chop rhubarb and assist with baking. If you can distribute posters or can provide a truck or van to get equipment to the site we need your too. If you love to work with children or enjoy arts and crafts we can use you too. Please contact Mary at 720-6521 for more information.
